My name is Elizabeth (Liz) Smith. I am an estate planning attorney serving Southeast Alaska. I help clients learn about the process their assets must go through upon your death, and then to create a plan if you want to do something different than what happens without any planning. Planning includes education, wills, trusts, and other services to help you and your family prepare.

Some key points about the way that I practice include:

• I do not bill hourly, so you will never have to worry about whether your question is worth the cost of calling your lawyer.
• I will talk to you about the legacy you want to leave behind, including intangible assets. If you have young children, this would include what you want them to learn if you are not here to pass your values along yourself.
• We will start with education so that you know what would happen if you were to die now without any planning. If you are happy with that outcome, you don’t need to pay for something you don’t need. If not, then we can customize a plan to address concerns you have.
